Important Note

If TPPA is requested:

• Order: Syphilis Antibodies, Serum
• If the Syphilis Antibodies, Serum is detected, and the RPR is negative, the specimen will automatically be sent to the Delaware Division of Public Health Laboratory for the TPPA testing.
• The TPPA test is a confirmation test for Treponema pallidum and is ordered by reflex only based on other Syphilis testing performed at Beebe Healthcare Laboratory.
