Collection Instructions:

1. Serum gel tubes should be centrifuged within 2 hours of collection.

2. Red-top tubes should be centrifuged, and the serum aliquoted into a plastic vial within 2 hours of collection.

Reference Values

Trough: <8.0 mcg/mL

Toxic trough: >10.0 mcg/mL

Interpretation

For conventional (nonpulse) dosing protocols, trough concentrations should fall to <8.0 mcg/mL. Toxicity may occur if the trough serum concentration is maintained >10.0 mcg/mL for prolonged periods of time.
