Specimen Requirements

Minimum of one full pink-top (EDTA) tube. Transport refrigerated.

NOTE: The following specimens will not be tested:

A. Specimen with significant level of anti-D present in mother’s serum in the absence of antenatal administration

B. Hemolyzed specimen

C. Newborn types Rh-negative and weak D-negative

D. Mother types Rh-positive
