Methodology

Aseptic Method Using a Sterile Closed System

Useful for treatment for medical indications such as hemochromatosis and polycythemia.

Specimen Requirements

A written order must be submitted by attending physician prior to procedure specifying amount of blood to be drawn, frequency of procedure, a test result at which patient should be bled, and reason for procedure. Verbal orders will be accepted with follow-up. Any questionable order must be verified by pathologist.
