Test Code MVP VAGINITIS PANEL MVP Vaginitis Panel

Important Note

This test examines for the presence of Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis (bacterial vaginosis), and Candida albicans group, and Candida glabrata/krusei group species from a vaginal swab. 

This test does NOT include Chlamydia or Gonorrhea testing - refer to separate test CTNG.

Specimen Requirements

1.  Vaginal Swab collected with the Cepheid Xpert Swab Specimen Collection Kit (supplied by laboratory couriers). 

2.  Refer to the Microbiology Specimen Collection Procedure for collection instructions.

 

 

 

Specimen Transport Temperature

Ambient or Refrigerated.

Specimen stable for 42 days either refrigerated or at ambient temperature.
