Specimen Requirements

Pathologist is present in-house from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. On nights and weekends, page pathologist on call at 302-441-5952 or call laboratory at extension 241 to page pathologist. Allow 20-minute response time. In all cases, extension 240 is called to alert technicians of frozen section.

Forms: Request for Surgical Pathology and Non-Gyn Cytology

Collection Instructions: Submit to Pathology. Small specimen may be sent by pneumatic tube to Specimen Processing. Large specimen is hand carried by Operating Room staff or consulting pathologist (see #CONSOR Operating Room Consult by Pathologist) to Pathology.
