Patient Preparation:

Fasting: Recommended, but not required; provide length of time patient has been fasting

Supplies: Sarstedt Aliquot Tube, 5 mL (T914)

Collection Container/Tube:

Preferred: Red top

Acceptable: Serum gel

Specimen Volume: 1 mL serum

Collection Instructions:

1. Within 45 minutes of collection, centrifuge and aliquot serum into a plastic vial.

2. Send frozen.
