Test Code AUTOPSY Autopsy (Postmortem)
Methodology
Includes gross and microscopic examination and an interpretive
report.
The major role of postmortem examination has become an educational
modality, and it is an excellent opportunity to evaluate clinical
diagnosis, as well as methods of treatment. It can also evaluate
the appropriateness of medical tests and procedures. Beebe
Community Laboratory is to use postmortem examination to determine
the significant events and course that lead to death.
Note: Medical Examiner cases will be performed at Nanticoke Hospital.
