Test Code A1C w/ Reflex to Glycomark A1C w/ Reflex to Glycomark

Important Note

If the A1c result is 6.0 – 8.0, GlycoMark testing will be performed at an additional cost. GlycoMark reflects postprandial glucose spikes from the previous two weeks, whereas A1c reflects average glycemic control during the previous three months.

 

Serum (or plasma) and whole blood are required.

Specimen Requirements

Submit the following.

Container/Tube Type: Serum Separator Tube (SST)

AND

Container/Tube Type: Lavender EDTA Tube

Transport refrigerated.

Glycomark: Monday through Friday (Sent to Mayo, who then refers to Esoterix Endocrinology)
